In a couple sentences, how would you describe your path to becoming an investor?
After an operating background at Artsy for 4+ years, I was excited to broaden my reach and work with more founders and startups in NYC. That's what led me to AlleyCorp, where we incubate and and invest in early stage companies.
Investment Approach: What are the key factors you consider when evaluating a founding team?
Strength of product vision and ability to hire and lead a team.
What's your style and approach when it comes to working with founders post-investment? What are the characteristics of founders you've worked well with?
The most successful founder/investor relationships are built on transparency in both directions. If investors know more about what is happening with a company, they are better able to help and give feedback that is useful.
If I'm coming to pitch to you or your firm, what's the one piece of advice you'd give me?
Know your customers and their paying points.
What do you like best about investing in NYC, and what’s your outlook on the future of NYC tech?
NYC represents a confluence of talent, creativity, and diversity like no other city in the world - these and so many other things make me incredibly optimistic about the future of the NYC tech scene.
