Steve’s interests are in enterprise software (particularly applications of AI/ML), infrastructure required to collect, store, and process data, internet of things, wireless, and environmental and materials technologies. He is currently on the board of StratIS IoT, SunRay Scientific, and Vydia as well as the public company Everspin Technologies, an investment of his prior fund.

In a couple sentences, how would you describe your path to becoming an investor?
I've been investing in venture for over 20 years, starting by creating a venture incubator for Bell Labs and launching technology spinouts from the Labs

Their experience with the problem they are trying to solve and their vision for building a business.
What's your style and approach when it comes to working with founders post-investment? What are the characteristics of founders you've worked well with?
I want be involved and help as much as I can. Founders I've worked will with are open about what's going on in the business and connecting their vision to the numbers.

What do you like best about investing in NYC, and what’s your outlook on the future of NYC tech?
It's a tremendously vibrant market with a very strong future.
