I am a co-founder and partner of NextView, a thematic, seed-stage venture capital fund. I try to spend as much time as possible working with entrepreneurs and investing in businesses that are trying to solve important problems for everyday people.
I was previously a venture capitalist at Spark Capital, a leading venture capital firm focused on the intersection of media, technology, and entertainment.
I had no idea what I wanted to do so I started out as a management consultant. Chased love to the Bay Area and became a consumer internet product manager. Got a cold email from Spark Capital and was able to learn the venture business there. Started NextView with my partners and haven't been fired yet :)
Founder/market fit. How well do the strengths of the founding team align with the hardest parts of building their particular business. Also, is the team extraordinarily great at something that matters for this company?
We are high-conviction, hands-on investors. We make fewer investments on a per partner basis than any other seed fund in the country. We like to be collaborative and engaged with founders and empower them to be the best leaders they can be.
Make sure I "get" what it is you do within the first 5 minutes.
I want to do my part to help design the future that I want my kids to live in
