Evan Nisselson invests in early stage companies via LDV Capital. He is a serial entrepreneur, professional photographer and digital media expert since the early 1990's. He started making pictures with his Nikon FM at 13 years old.

He thrives on helping build teams and businesses that leverage technology to entertain, increase efficiency, and solve problems. Evan's international expertise ranges from assisting technology startups in raising capital, business development, marketing, content development, recruiting and product development.

Origin Story: In a couple sentences, how would you describe your path to becoming an investor?

I built four businesses over 18 years as an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, New York and Europe. Some succeeded and others did not.  These days I help entrepreneurs avoid my past mistakes and collaborate toward building valuable businesses. I thrive on investing in people.

Investment Approach: What are the key factors you consider when evaluating a founding team?

We thrive on collaborating with deep technical teams who leverage computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze visual data.

What's your style and approach when it comes to working with founders post-investment? What are the characteristics of founders you've worked well with?

We are typically the first institutional investment and we like to work closely with our Founders. Most of our founders are deep technical teams who come out of research or technical serial entrepreneurs.

Share your deep domain knowledge and how that gives you a unique perspective on solving a large customer problem.

What do you like best about investing in NYC, and what’s your outlook on the future of NYC tech?

NYC is the epicenter of many business sectors and therefore has many deep domain experts. NYC tech will continue to exponentially grow.
